The New Gold Standard in Automated Perimetry
Carrot set the standard for VR visual fields when we introduced the first virtual visual field system in 2018. Today, our clinically validated testing is benchmarked against SITA, delivering accurate, repeatable results that support confident diagnosis and a seamless transition to modern visual diagnostics.

FAQs
Questions about Carrot?
Can I export Carrot visual field test results to my EHR or EMR?
Yes. Carrot supports one-click export of visual field testing and perimetry results as PDF, CSV, and structured data formats compatible with most EHR systems. With DICOM 360 Sync (available with our Pro subscription), finalized reports are automatically pushed to your EMR/EHR and PACS, eliminating manual uploads.
How does virtual Goldmann visual field testing work without a bowl perimeter?
Carrot delivers Goldmann kinetic perimetry using a VR visual field headset that projects moving stimuli in a controlled digital environment. Patients respond as targets enter view, while built-in eye tracking records isopters, replicating traditional Goldmann testing without room-sized equipment.
What’s the difference between 24-2 and 24-2C visual field tests?
The 24-2C visual field test adds 10 central test points to the standard 24-2 pattern. This addition increases sensitivity to early macular glaucoma while adding less than 30 seconds per eye compared to a standard 24-2 visual field test.
How does Carrot track progression across 24-2 visual field tests?
Carrot automatically analyzes mean deviation (MD), pattern standard deviation (PSD), and visual field index (VFI) across a series of 24-2 tests. Statistically significant trends are highlighted to support faster, more confident clinical decision-making.
Does Carrot generate DMV-ready Esterman visual field reports?
Yes. Carrot automatically generates DMV-ready Esterman visual field PDFs, including patient identifiers, fixation losses, and pass/fail summaries formatted for common driving evaluation requirements. Reports can be exported instantly or auto-filed to your EMR/EHR.
How long does pupillometry testing take with Carrot?
Pupillometry testing with Carrot takes approximately 15–20 seconds for both eyes. Simultaneous infrared imaging captures accurate pupil response data quickly, minimizing patient disruption and chair time.
How are pupillometry and functional vision findings shared with the EMR?
Carrot allows you to export pupillometry and functional vision test results as PDFs and video recordings. With DICOM 360 Sync (available with our Pro subscription), results are automatically and securely transmitted to your EMR/EHR and PACS, matched to the correct patient record.
Does Carrot offer a visual acuity test?
No. Carrot does not currently offer a visual acuity test. We prioritize clinical accuracy and validation, and current VR hardware limitations prevent consistent, high-quality digital visual acuity measurement across all patients. If technology advances to meet our standards, visual acuity will be evaluated for future inclusion.
